Getting published online is one best ways to market self. Writing is the best way to market yourself.

Why get published in print

a. credibility, positioning

b. attract prospects (by sharing info in a non selling manner)

c. get reprints can use in marketing to use as corner stone of mailing or to supplement marketing package and can then can distribute online.

Why publish online

a. Least expensive way to get recognition,

b. Can post on web site to attract visitors

c. Post links to article on other sites

d. Post articles on their site and link back (increases link popularity)

e. Compile articles into ebook or CD and sell or include as a bonus.

f. Helps get attention of ideal prospect.

g. Use article to track interest. Start by writing article and see how much interest generates to see if worth writing book.

h. Gives advantage of people who haven't written articles

- start small

- start with individual magazines. identify article formula and think about ideas that are a fit.

- Query letter to pitch ideas to magazines. 1 page letter starts with strong hook in style of magazine pitching.

- Identify mag, understand their needs, pitch and follow up.

Getting Published Online

- Identify where want to be published, ezines, web sites

- Identify what other publications include articles about ____ your area of expertise.

- Develop master email list of publishers. See aspow.com site to see personal list.

- egroup.com and do a search for articles to find groups that want articles

- Send your article to the list you have compiled and you are likely to get picked up by several of them.
