In This Week's Issue: Announcing the Winners of the Web site ToolKit Contest

The Web Site ToolKit Contest Winners

At the beginning of July I launched the Web Site ToolKit and soon after announced a contest for the best web site developed using the ToolKit, with a top prize of $500.

Well... Tad Ta! The results are in!

We had 58 entries into the contest. I looked at every single one of them and scored them according to design, navigation, content and formatting. I emerged with 18 finalists and, with a lot of head scratching and close scrutiny, I came up with the winners.

It was so hard in choosing the top contestants that I finally decided on picking two first-place and two second-place winners. There are also four runners-up and ten honorable mentions.

It was especially gratifying for me that people were able to take the ToolKit, follow the instructions in the tutorial and create high quality web content for their sites in two months or less.

The design area was probably the most challenging. Some did their own design, some used templates or do-it-yourself online tools and some hired designers.

What really hit home with me was how important the overall design and text formatting is to an effective site. If the design is bad and the text poorly laid out, it literally pushes the visitor away from the page.

But good design pulls you in and makes you want to explore. Add to that good "what's-in-it-for-me content" and you have a web site that people will not only read, they'll take action to find out more about your services.

Since I lunched the web site in July, I've added a dozen more resources and tools to help you create a quality site. I've also listed contact information to editors, writers and designers who can help make your site a winner as well.

If you already have the Web Site ToolKit, I encourage you to jump back in and keep working until you have a site you can be proud of. Yes, it can be a lot of work and take more time than you thought, but take it from me, a good web site can be the best investment of time, energy and money you'll ever make in your business.

If you don't have the ToolKit yet, I invite you to give it a spin. It will take you by the hand with my written and audio tutorials and give you easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions to create a web site that will help you attract more clients.

Make sure you take a look because studying award-winning web sites is a way to get ideas for imporving your own site.

And, by the way, I'll be announcing a new Web Site ToolKit Contest at the beginning of October.

The More Clients Bottom Line: Get the Web site ToolKit and take advantage of all it has to offer to build a web site that will create a solid foundation for your business and attract new clients for years to come.

Until next week, all the best,

Robert Middleton
